Ms. Tronnes

This is my sixth year teaching at Highland Park Elementary. Prior to joining this community, I taught grades five through eight in Bloomington, MN. At my previous school, I coached the math team, led a writer’s club, and helped direct the spring musical. I am excited to learn more about your children’s interests so I can support them in their academic, social, and extracurricular pursuits.

I hold a Master’s in Elementary Education from St. Kate’s and am licensed in K-6 Elementary Education and 5-8 Mathematics. Teaching is my second career. After spending seventeen years as a professional musician, I returned to school to pursue my passion for teaching. Now, I enjoy singing, playing the flute, and playing the piano purely for my own enjoyment. Fun fact: I still get more nervous speaking in front of people than I do singing!

I am fortunate to have a wonderful husband who is a registered nurse as well as a self-taught auto mechanic, stereo technician, chef, gardener, and woodworker. We have four children: two in college and two in high school. Our home is alive with the sounds of music (my flute & piano, and my children's violin, viola, french horn, & drums) alongside the voices of friends, the hum of a TV that’s always on, and a stereo or two. The exuberance and activity of our household inspire me to embrace the energy, vibrancy, and unexpected moments of learning in an active classroom.
