Welcome to Ms. Lee’s Third Grade Class!

I am so excited to work with you and your scholar this school year. My name is Mercedes Lee, but I go by Ms. Lee when working with students. This is my 10th year of teaching and I am thrilled to be a part of the Highland Park Elementary community!

Since I will be spending the year getting to know your child, let me share a little bit about myself. I grew up in rural, northern MN where I had the wonderful opportunity to raise sheep and participate in 4-H and FFA. I received my Master’s of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Baltimore is also where I began my teaching career, and it is still one of my favorite places to visit!

I live in St. Paul with my husband, Hoang, our dog, Ginger, and our cuddly cats, Olive and Oolong. Outside of school, I love to read, eat ice cream, and take walks around Lake Phalen with my family.

I cannot wait to have an incredible year of learning with your scholar. Please never hesitate to connect with me or our classroom community. One of my foundational beliefs as a teacher is that families are their child’s first educator, and I look forward to having the opportunity to add another chapter to your child’s educational journey this school year.
