Staff Profile

My name is Jim Schaldach. I am the school social worker at HPE. For 35+ years I've worked with children and families in a variety of residential settings, non-public, and public schools, in Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN, as well as Berkeley & San Francisco, CA. I'm committed to bringing joy and creativity to my work as I support all learners on their path to developing meaningful relationships and finding academic success at school. My work is influenced by play therapy, trauma-informed practices, self-regulation strategies, mindfulness, and racial and gender equity.

When not working at HPE, I can be found reading literature or jazz history, paddling in the boundary waters with my spouse, or relaxing with my cats.
