Welcome to the Highland Park Elementary Music Program! We are thrilled to offer a comprehensive music education that nurtures creativity, fosters cognitive development, and enhances social skills in our students. Our dedicated music teacher, Jared Grabko, will provide instruction in general music and strings for the first semester of the school year.

Music education is an essential component of our curriculum, aligning seamlessly with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). Through music, students develop critical thinking skills, improve memory, and enhance their problem-solving abilities. Our program integrates with other subjects, supporting the PYP's transdisciplinary approach to learning. For example, students explore concepts like systems through music notation and materials through instrument timbre, connecting their musical experiences to broader units of inquiry. This holistic approach not only cultivates musical talent but also supports academic achievement across all subjects, preparing our students to be well-rounded, globally-minded individuals.
