Fed III
Welcome to the Fed III special education classroom at Highland Park Elementary! This program is designed to support students with emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated team works to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
When a student joins the Fed III program, we focus on building strong relationships with the student and their key supporters. This connection, built through collaboration between the school, home, and community, helps students feel valued and supported.
Throughout the year, students engage in a variety of themes that integrate math, reading, writing, and social-emotional learning. These lessons are customized to meet each student's unique needs. Students also participate in enriching experiences that promote global awareness and personal growth. This approach aligns with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), which emphasizes inquiry-based learning, global-mindedness, and holistic development. By blending EBD strategies with the IB PYP curriculum, we ensure each child receives a well-rounded education that fosters a love of learning and exploration.
Our ultimate goal is to help students develop the skills they need to transition back into a general education classroom. To support this, we teach both academic and coping strategies that students can practice daily, both in the classroom and in everyday life.
