Kindergarten is Kids' Work

All About Me:

Hello and welcome to Highland Elementary; I have been teaching Kindergarten at Highland for
9 years. Previous to this, I taught 2nd grade, Reading Recovery (an
early intervention program for 1st graders) and was a Teacher on
Special Assignment, teaching literacy strategies to St. Paul teachers.

Educational background:
Bachelor of Science University of MN
Master of Arts in Education Hamline University

My
husband John and I are life long residents of Highland Park.  We
have four grown children (two sons and two daughters) and four wonderful
grandchildren; We spend our leisure time at our cabin in Old
Frontenac MN and enjoy boating on Lake Pepin, golfing, walking, biking
and going to garage sales.

My
wish is for every child to be excited about learning, have a love of
reading and writing and to use those tools as a means to discover and
learn for the rest of their lives.

The Primary Years Program allows us to teach children through units of
study that integrate the curriculum through a global theme.
